Loved returning to this world.

Once again we delve into the chaos and mayhem that is Lake and Declan’s life. Lake is his usual sassy, goofy, lethal self whilst Declan still embraces deadpan humour and is also still learning how to process and express his emotions.
Circumstances have them working on a DRD related matter and all the monsters come out to play, chimera and human, with Declan appearing to be the main target. Of course Lake and Declan are accompanied by Sir Reginald on this latest adventure along with Indigo and Sy. The found family manage to win the battle once again but not without some action on the way and Lake threatening to use his torture techniques involving scissors. I did find myself laughing out loud at not only Lake but all of the fun witty banter between the characters.

There’s also an ‘attack’ desk, bacon donuts, a fish booster seat and some unplanned DIY in this wonderfully engaging story. I would definitely recommend reading the first book in the series prior to jumping into this instalment.
