The Only Good Indians
by Stephen Graham Jones
I did like this, but the first third was so much stronger than the rest, by the time I finished it I couldn't help but feel like it could of had a much stronger second half.
The first portion sticking with a guy who's trying to live his life with his wife and get away from his old Indian ways is interesting but also a slow build up to horrible events we know are coming but don't quite go there too fast making it harder to read. The second half we get to the fuck ups of the group and I feel less bad about what happens to them. The storytelling also gets confusing at points of who's point of view you're supposed to be seeing.
But overall twisted and dark, with some really solid fucked up moments that I did enjoy. A 3 out of 5.
