The Good Goodbye by Carla Buckley
4.0

This sucked me right in. I love how the story is told through one mom's point of view in the present and the two daughters' points of view through glimpses of the past. The flashes of the past really help build the characters and show some jarring differences with how the parents view their daughters.

There are a few twists. I saw a couple coming, but I was surprised with the ending. I think it would have been better if
Spoiler no one noticed that the daughters had been misidentified and Rory woke up as Arden and then lived her life as Arden when Arden died as Rory
, but I think that ending would have been more upsetting to readers.
