This book was so cute and fun, and it was such a great start to a new series by Lo Everett! It was my first book by Lo, and I liked it a lot, and it was great to see cameos from her other series in this one, too (and it was adorable to watch Atlas geek out over the Bandits players 🤣).

Harlowe was such a sweetheart but that didn’t stop her from also being a badass and working hard for what she wanted in life. She was determined to get a promotion and she worked as hard as she could to achieve that goal. I loved seeing her put in the hard work to get what she wanted, but she also eventually accepted that it may not go her way, and that had to be okay with her. It was great to see her interact with Atlas, even after she found out who he was and how they had a connection. She was hesitant at first, but she still treated him well once she got to know him, and it was great to see. Harlowe had a stretch of time in the story where something major and traumatic happened to her, and it was great to see her work through that with Atlas’s help. She was used to working through things alone in the past, but she still accepted help from him because she knew she needed it.

Atlas Kane was such a sweet man, but I loved that he didn’t back down on the things he believed in. There was a big rift between him and his brother, but I appreciated that he didn’t let his mother sway him into reconciling when that wasn’t what he wanted and he knew it wouldn't be good for him. Atlas was so kind and caring with Harlowe; he knew she wasn’t used to having a man take care of her, and it was great to see him be the man that cherished her. I loved seeing his dominant side, but it was great to see his submissive side be accepted in this story as well when he wanted to explore it. He was such a great man and I loved watching him get closer to Harlowe in this story and let her into his world.

This was such a great story and I loved visiting Timberline Peak! Harlowe and Atlas really were made for each other, and it was great to watch their relationship blossom in this book. If you’re looking for a small town romance with a lot of heart and some slow burn, with a side of an adorable dog and a slightly rude donkey (IYKYK), this is the book for you!
