A Not So Meet Cute
by Meghan Quinn
Oh my gosh, as usual, Meghan Quinn’s latest had me rolling with laughter! Between the hilarious banter between Lottie and Huxley, to the extremely unique, (read strange) birthing classes and shopping experiences that the couple attended in this book, I quickly learned this was not the book to be reading in public.
Now in a way, it was a little different from the stories I feel I usually read by this author, Huxley was a little more domineering, a little more quiet than what I think of with her leading men. Not in a bad way. No, he was as sexy as can be! The whole story was both steamy as well as sweet and funny and I loved it. I don’t know if we will possibly get any chance to see what happens either with Huxley’s brothers, or with Lottie’s sister, but my fingers are crossed that there is a good chance as that often happens with Quinn’s characters, very lucky for those of us who want to devour anything she puts out and everything about all of her characters!
I loved the whole Pretty Woman-esque aspect of the story, and how it even called itself out for it at times. And then, the twist at the end, the way the whole fake pregnant fiance secret got uncovered was a total surprise for me. I did not see it going that way! I love how Quinn can surprise me every time I read a new book from her.
The “not so meet cute” of this story, really was pretty cute, and perfect!
