Ultimately disappointing. I enjoyed the first story. I thought there was a good setup, with an intriguing premise, as well as a mystery in the present (mostly dealt with) and a past mystery that was hinted at.
Sadly, the early promise was squandered. I found the stories less engaging as they went on, and unlike most Sanderson, most of the early hooks and mysteries did not pay off, instead morphing into a weird different kind of story. I wish I'd stopped after the first novella.
