(Mini-Review) 4.5 Stars - This was so much fun, a heartwarming story about a bisexual single mom competing on a baking show that encompasses much more than meets the eye. Alexis Hall is so gifted when it comes to crafting characters - much like in Boyfriend Material, these all felt like very real & realized people, with their own charms & quirks, & I just adored the supporting cast so much, but not as much as I loved Rosaline. Rosaline has to be one of my favorite MCs as of late - I loved the bi representation here & feel like he did such an excellent job with it. I've seen some reviewers say this comes off as preachy but I respectfully disagree - with her daughter, many situations provided a great deal of teachable moments, particularly through the lens of being a queer parent. & I just loved the slow burn romance here - Harry & his mermaid cakes will forever have my heart. This was on the longer side but oddly enough it was really bittersweet to see this story end - I really fell in love with these characters so, so much. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series, there's just so many places you can go with this format! Highly recommend, especially if you're fans of The Great British Bake Off!
