Amor Towles is a wonderful writer, and the story he has crafted is marvelous. It has some wonderful lines said by wonderful characters, an emotionally rich story, and some great payoffs. Also reading the author’s notes on Goodreads really added to my enjoyment of the book. I give the book 3.5 stars because it’s meandering at times, and I wished it was a little more focused. That said, the themes are universal, and if you love the older gentleman character, you’ll love this book.
