Well Met
by Jen DeLuca
4 Fluffy & Fun Renaissance Faire Inspired Stars!
I've had this one for awhile and put it off because I was worried I wouldn't be into it. Well huzzah! I definitely read it at the perfect time because it turns out I was absolutely smitten. I thought this book was fun, quirky, heartwarming and sexy.
I enjoyed the Renaissance Faire setting and the cast of characters associated with it. There was a sexy man in a kilt, a swoon worthy pirate and sassy tavern wenches. The book had a warm, small town feel that is always so fun to escape into. Emily came to help her sister after an accident left her needing surgery and ended up finding so much more than she anticipated. Her family, the town and the people she met through the faire were exactly what she needed to move on with her life after her breakup.
Was it a predictable enemies-to-lovers type rom-com? Yes and that's exactly what I like and need in my romcoms. I like the fluffy romance, the miscommunication and the small drama it causes that can be worked out, the angst, the sexual tension and of course the happily ever after. Well Met delivered on all of those things and I am looking forward to more of the same from Book #2.
