I went into this book completely blind and when Chandler meets "Drew" I was so extremely turned off (I will never look at Little Ceasars and not cringe for the rest of my life). When I realized Drew was actually Finn I thought "There is no way my opinion of this man will be turned around" I was wrong. Finn was great. He was adorable. I LOVED the way he listened to Chandler, and respected her boundaries, and tried to put her first. There was a bit too much Lord of The Rings for my taste, but he's a nerd, I get it.
Chandler was very sexually confident but had a lot on I securities about the other aspects of her life. I wish we would have seen more growth with her from the beginning, it all comes in the last 15% I had trouble connecting with her at times but I was really rooting for her throughout the story.
We have the "sex lessons" trope so the book has plenty of spicy scenes. They ate detailed, but not too wild. Chandler talks about her fantasies towards the end and it felt pretty vanilla for me. But I would feel comfortable recommending this one without any shame.
Overall I really liked this book. It was a masterclass in communication, consent, & listening to your partner. I loved the mental health representation and I am interested in reading this author again.
