Although I'm a big fan of the film adaptations of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda, this is actually the first Roald Dahl book I've read. I'm not sure what's taken me so long, this story was quite cute and now that I've read it, I think I can see the film adaptation of this one as well!

The BFG is a delightful story of a friendly giant and a little girl who mistakenly sees him. The book is full of fun language and words I've come to recognize as the Roald Dahl style even from watching the previously mentioned movies.

The story is a good story of making friends even if they don't look the same as you, of standing up for what you believe in and of helping out when things are wrong even if you might be scared.
