myntop 's review for:
More Than This
by Jay McLean
I fell hard for McLean's writing from the first book I devoured, Where the Road Takes Me. I've been wanting to read this series ever since!
More Than This is emotional and powerful. There's not a moment in the book that's not wrought with some kind of strong emotion. There is tragedy and betrayal and, of course, love. I absolutely adore Jake's family (including Jake!) I can't even imagine what Kayla must have felt and had to deal with in such circumstances.
The connection between Kayla and Jake is almost instantaneous, it's quick and hard, but also very believable because of how things came together for them. I also loved Logan's part in their relationship toward the end. I was prepared to dislike him, but he grew on me and I'm hoping beyond hope that the next book in the series will follow him.
I think fans of McLean will enjoy this book, as well as readers of contemporary romance. I'm very much a fan of this author!
