What a boring book! The same sentences and thoughts repeated over and over again. Felt like the author wanted to give A LOT of quotable sentences for TikTok.
The plot was predictable and really not original.

Trials again?!

Also we lost ALL fantasy in "romantasy".  It was just romance and sadly they lacked chemistry, because as I said: Every thought and conversation was basically the same.

There was a lot of nonsense. Just a few examples: 

She didn't get cleaned after she killed Mak and slept drugged in a bed for days?! 

They slept with each other under the willow... On the sisters grave?!

Kitt knew she was his half sister and still proceeded to marry and kiss her?! 

Mak volunteers to fight Paeden to death and then sacrificed himself for her?! 

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!

 

The first book could've and should've been a standalone novel and I would've loved it, but the story was dragged out to a trilogy with a lot of filler. Such a disappointment.
