I was honestly a bit worried going into this second book. I loved the first book, and I was left with the impression that book two as just book one redone. Thankfully that impression was incorrect.

Yes, there is "another flight school" in Starsight, but it was nothing like in book one. It also fit into the plot. Another complaint that I heard was that there was not a romance in this book. I would agree, there is not a overwhelming romance in Starsight - something I applaud Sanderson on.

I loved how Starsight dealt with alien cultures. I also loved that "they" and "them" pronouns flowed so naturally in the book. Starsight is really a book about understanding and acceptance of others - and what greater message do we need right now?
