This is kind of like a reboot in a sense, but more of a new run, by Matt Kindt. Who is that? Well check out 50% of Valiant's stuff and you'll see his name on plenty.

So Aric is trying to live his life in isolation now. I only read the first few volumes of the last run but I guess he settled down, got a wife, kids, and was living happy. Now he traveled to a new planet and his messing around with a new chick with a tail. All is swell for our viking hero. That is until the army comes to his doorstep to ask for him to fight. Well, more demanding than asking, and now he must travel forward. He asks the suit once more to help him win and oh boy does he go to war.

Good: The art is really well balanced with some great sweeping shots of action mixed with solid emotional faces and movements. I also enjoyed Aric as this, Logan type warrior who wants to be left alone but will fight for his right to survive. I also think the ending is building to something unique that can change my view on Aric.

Bad: It's nothing really new. I know that's hard but it feels like I've seen this before. Guy who wants to live a quiet life forced into fighting again for a war he never cared for on top of using a special weapon to kill them all. Yeah...

Even as generic as it sounds it's still a solid read. Kindt has a good voice for the character and I'm excited enough to see where it goes. A 3 out of 5.
