Janna is Muslim and has a crush on a boy that is not Muslim. She really cares about what he thinks. Janna’s brother moves back into her and her mother’s two bedroom apartment and she is kicked out of her room and has to share a room with her mother. She is obsessed with books and photography, and is a graphic novelist. She lives in a tight knit Muslim community.
I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up because I signed up to do a book tour for Misfit in Love, but I didn’t know it was a sequel to this, so I looked up on Libby if the library had an audiobook and they did. I loved the day to day life of Janna. I was confused about the titles of chapters of Saint, Misfit, and Monster.
