“At first, it had been annoying: he’d look up and see Somers grinning at him, practically a puppy dog, like all he wanted was to be best friends. Then, later, as their relationship had shifted, it had been one of the few pleasures in Hazard’s life. To look up, to see Somers’s forehead furrowed as he read a file, to see the little crook to his head when he was focusing extra hard, to see him bend all his resources toward whatever obstacle he was facing.”

what can i even possibly SAY about this book??? the way everything is so much more intense, but also lovelier and, gdi, sexier now. like, ashe doesn't even properly writes out sex scenes, but the steam, damn bro, sizzling hot. and the angst, oh my god, always epic proportions, but damn, damn it all to hell, the romance!!!!! i'm trying not to read compulsively because heavens know i tend to go into hyperfocus and its detrimental to my responsabilities and to my sleep, but this book!!!!!

i think this is officialy my favorite hazard and somerset book. it's like, probably amongst my favorite books ever, it's officialy on my favorites shelf now.

what the hell. what the hell, the ending of this book?? it had me in TEARS!! i am telling you, actual water in my eyes!!!!!

i love hazard, he's so awful. i love somers, he's the worst. they're both so sweet it makes me want to commit acts of violence!! the way the talk so sweetly to each other sometimes?? the pet names????

i want to climb on top of a table and rip off my shirt and scream! i tried to get a coworker to read this series and she was digging the plot but when i said it's a series with arcs and like probably 20+ she wouldn't commit, but oh my god.

oh my god.

i feel so strongly about this series, and this book i particular, that i am rambling and not saying a single objective thing.

i am so sorry about my complains gregory ashe, i am so sorry.
