I could not suspend my belief enough for this one, I'm afraid. I don't dislike the fated-mate concept, but it needs to be handled with delicacy in order for it to be palatable. The characters should at least have more depth than a puddle.
Also, I could only think about all the human things mentioned that would not have made sense to aliens or on an alien world - why was their ocean exactly the same as ours, salinity included? How does her alien suitor, who has never been intimate with a human by his own admittance know what a clit is? Relatedly, how does the crown prince of a Pleasure Planet (hello Risa) not know about the trafficking of human women in his domain? Doesn't leave me with a lot of hope for his governance.
