Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn
2.0

I STRUGGLED to get through this. Five hundred pages of just them arguing, mad at each other for a misunderstanding and both of them trying to further their careers by using each other. I truly love Meghan Quinn but this just wasn't good like her usual stuff is. It was boring and repetitive and I got SO tired of both of them. They are both supposed to be adults (Maggie in her twenties and Brody in his thirties) but neither of them acted like it. Like, grow up, tell each other you like each other, and deal with your problems. The whole "her brother would hate me if he knew I liked his sister" was so ridiculous in this book, given that Gary was such a cool, goofy guy that I don't know what Brody was so worried about. The jokes weren't funny like they usually are, the spice just wasn't as good and I really didn't feel as much chemistry between them at all. This felt forced, and I just didn't enjoy it. I hope the next book is better.
