⛵️In this historical women’s fiction Grace’s father is arranging a marriage for her with a disgusting pig of a man who tries to sexually assault her. After what I would consider a series of horrible choices, the heroine of this book is transplanted from being a proper young lady to being disguised as a boy on the bottom of the food chain while on a ship in the royal Navy. I really enjoyed the descriptions and explanations of life aboard the ship and all the terms. It was fun and a new-to-me experience hearing the nitty gritty and how sailing works.

⛵️I listened to this as an audiobook and the narration threw me off some. The accents portrayed were so extremely accurate that I had a difficult time interpreting, and so did the main character. I understand the point of doing the accents so realistically, but at the same time if I wasn't 101% paying attention I couldn't understand what was being said and missed a small part of the story. And for someone like me who likes to listen while driving, this stressed me out and took away from the story.

⛵️After Grace is aboard the boat, disguised as a boy, she proves herself as hard a worker as any boy. She is flawed but likable and relatable. Overall a good historical fiction with a splash of romance.
