I have so much love for family stories especially when you can feel the grief and happiness in the writing and can connect to the experiences of the characters. This felt relatable and heartfelt and like a conversation you shouldn't be eavesdropping on but you have to hear the gossip. I thought the story structure of one sided phone calls but different and unique but...not my taste. And that's really my only real problem with the book. 4.5 stars!
