Light of the World
by James Lee Burke
A 2013 staff fiction favorite recommended by Connie and Stephen.
Stephen's review: A favorite author is James Lee Burke. I recently read his latest two novels back to back. I read the print books and listen to the audio books too. I really enjoy Will Patton’s narration.
Burke has created a stellar fictional hero with Detective Dave Robicheaux and his over the top sidekick Clete Purcel. Most of the novels are set in the New Orleans-Iberia Parrish locales. Although "Light of the World'' takes place in Montana, it is the wonderful writing of Burke setting a scene and descriptions of locations along with the actions and stories of the heroes, villains and victims that make for great reading.
