I'll Be You
by Janelle Brown
No matter what if a book revolves around sister relationships I’m always going to pick it up but add in a missing person and I’m even more excited. This right here 👇🏻 got me.
From the synopsis: Two identical twin sisters and former child actors have grown apart—until one disappears, and the other is forced to confront the secrets they’ve kept from each other in this twisty suspense novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Pretty Things.
While this isn’t a straight up thriller, (it’s more suspenseful than anything) I still found it to be really fast paced and tense anyway especially as there are a lot of unanswered questions about where Elli is, but really that’s just the beginning here. So I was super invested in the story for sure, definitely wanted to know if Elli was in fact in a cult!! All of that to say, the story itself was intriguing enough but where this really stood out for me was in the characterization. Elli and Sam narrate in alternate chapters so you get to know both of them and the author does such an in depth character study you really feel like you know them very well by the time you finish. I think I’ll stop there because I don’t wanna get into the plot too much but if this at all sounds appealing to you please try it, I thought it was so engrossing and fascinating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
