I forgot that Qifrey (as much as I love him) has so unsettling moments so early on in the series. Like the Olruggio moment is what I think of, but all the way back to volume one we clearly see that while he cares about his apprentices and treats them well he certainly has his own private motivations and he’s pretty determined on his goals, in an uncompromising way
