A very gripping story that had me questioning the characters and myself multiple times. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because it incorrectly implies that trans children across America are not only easily accessing puberty blockers, but that it is a simple, quick and easy process to also access gender confirming hormones and surgeries. While it may be true that trans children would likely benefit from this kind of care, it is an issue that many people feel strongly about, and this story is more likely to make them believe that children are being 'turned trans' than that trans people deserve decency, respect, and safety. This story did not need the character to be trans (which I assume is why they wait til halfway in to tell us)to be just as gripping, and I believe that while it intends to show the plight of trans women, this particular story is likely to make people more misguided and misinformed on trans rights .
