So Twisted is the first book in the bad behavior series by author Melissa Marino. The Bad Behavior series is a series of standalone contemporary romances that straddle the line between new adult and adult. I would still put them in the new adult category because the main character for So Twisted was in her twenties. But I can easily see this appealing to fans of both new adult and adult contemporary romances. So Twisted is a feel good romance and is a very quick read. It had its' fair share of funny moments too. (And some moments that made me beyond embarrassed.) Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I can't wait to read books 2 and 3 of the series, both of which are already out. Binge readathon, anyone??
So Twisted is told in dual narrative between the two main characters, Callie and Aaron. Aaron is a single dad and Callie is the new live in nanny. While the overall story line is rather predictable (we all know where this one is going...) there were more than enough little funny things thrown in that I totally did not expect. Some of them had me laughing and some of them had my cheeks turning pink from embarrassment.like the daughter finding the toy cucumber. eek!! AKA Callie's rabbit. I died! Callie is a very competent young woman and I really appreciated that about her. She has her head on straight and she is great for Aaron.
Aaron's little girl is just super cute. And while it is really not my thing to read books that feature children, she was really just a secondary character to the story. She was around throughout the book, but she didn't really get in the way of Callie and Aaron's story. She complemented it. If that makes any sense. Either way, it worked for me. I honestly was going to pass on this one because of the little girl and start with book 2 in the series, but I got all of the books for review and I wanted to read the series in order, so I decided to give So Twisted and try and I am glad that I did. While it is not my favorite book in the series (I am already liking book 2 more than this one!) it was a really good read. If you like cute romances featuring single fathers you will love this one. But even if that is not your go to trope, read So Twisted anyway. I think you will enjoy it. And you can binge books 2 and 3 right after, which is always fun.
Bottom line: So twisted and the bad behavior series is perfect for a good binge read for fans who like cute romances with a dash of sexy and humor thrown in. Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go back to reading book 2.
