... in my current reading of romance and paranormal lit, this book stands out a little. Recollections of a country vet? I'm not really an animal lover, but Herriot's writing, just open and honest and FUNNY and heartwarming ... I loved the whole series! At times the writing jumps around a bit but he always connects and interweaves his memories perfectly.
