I enjoyed this book overall!! I think the least interesting aspect of the book was the romance between Adam & Zayneb though đ it made me a little bored in the second half because I just wasnât really invested in them getting together or not đ¤ˇđťââď¸
But besides that, I think this book is powerful in a lot of ways!! The main thing that stuck with me was Zaynebâs rage. So many people mistake her anger about anti-Muslim hate for her being a violent person but she just wanted people to care. And like rage and violence go hand and hand but not everyone thatâs angry is violent. Sheâs someone that feels things very strongly and canât be quiet about it which makes sense! If injustice doesnât make you angry, you need to check your privilege because everyone should be angry about the injustice Muslim people face, it doesnât matter if it âdoesnât affect you personallyâ you should care about other humans and fight for them! Itâs everyoneâs responsibility, not just the people that the injustice directly affects. I also thought the MS rep with Adam and how difficult it is to deal with a terrifying diagnosis, especially when that diagnosis has already taken someone close to you, and having to figure out how to reshape your life plans around it. Overall, I recommend this one!
