Capturing the Devil
by Kerri Maniscalco
If this hasn‘t been a fantastic conclusion, I dare you to show me one that made me feel all these things I did with this book! My only concern is how I will ever be able to accept that there are no more books about Thomas and Audrey Rose‘s adventures.
Reading this series, I had a strong feeling that the first will stay my favorite, and no murder mystery or progress in Cressworth‘s romance might change that. One thing I just loved about SJTR was the atmosphere, the build-up, the murder mystery, and the unique approach to a story like this. However, CTD did an amazing job in closing this circle. Going back to the devilish crimes of the Ripper in London, hunting a devil that might as well be a complice or a Ripper itself in America brought back the thrilling atmosphere of the first book, and added a strong new touch to it!
And while we got one of the most evil murder mysteries, we didn‘t face any repetition of pace, plot and approach as we sometimes did in the previous books. Kerri Maniscalco takes a new way in solving these murders while also giving enough spotlight to our love doves, Audrey Rose and Thomas, and satisfying our needs to see their needs satisfied. Despite the obstacles they had to overcome, their love story unfolds beautifully, and gave me just what I craved (though my cravings for these two might never be fully stilled! But that‘s on me!).
A fantastic conclusion, just the way it had to be after the exciting first installement and the following adventures!
