Unravel Me
by Tahereh Mafi
So, I did not enjoyed reading this book. I really cannot stand the main character, I want to slap her in the face and tell her to stop whining.
But. This book was not as bad as book 1, because there is less what is supposed to be romance. I state it like that because I don't think over the top horny kisses are romance, but that is my opinion :) I do think this book gives a wrong picture of kisses and love and all the things because it is all based on physical attraction. And it is a bit intense for the recommended age in my opinion.
The story gets a bit better than in book 1, there is happening a bit more. But, there is still a lot of kissing, a lot of naive moment that I rolled my eyes or facepalmed while reading this.
The ending is really promessing for book 3, but I'm also a bit afraid she will fall back in her old habits very soon, but we will see. I'm going to read [b:Ignite Me|13188676|Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)|Tahereh Mafi|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375972497s/13188676.jpg|40181098] next month in a buddyread with Zwaantina, which I really look forward to because she shares my attitude towards this series. I will be reading [b:Fracture Me|17331518|Fracture Me (Shatter Me, #2.5)|Tahereh Mafi|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1383413233s/17331518.jpg|24034803] later today.
This all sounds like a 1* review. But there is something in the writing I really like. Not so much the striked parts, however those are interesting. There was a lot more of that at the beginning of the first book, what was really interesting. But there are some part in this book with that feature which I like. But there is the thing about the writing.
The thoughts of the main character are not all in full sentences. Sometimes worlds are repeated, sentences are not finished. And let's be honest: this is how your minds works. Who considers the world around them in full sentences? This causes you to be really in her head. I don't like that situation because I don;t like the inside of her head, I do not agree with her thoughts and decisions, but I do recognize this is really well done and really unique to this series, and I really appreciate that. So, the second star is purely for this!
