His & Hers by Alice Feeney
5.0

Blurb: There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, His & Hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper (her ex husband) is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

Overview: I've heard so many good things about this book so I had to see if it lived up to the hype. I have to say that yes it did! Each chapter switches between His and Her version of events, which flows really well and was very cleverly done. Interspersed with short chapters from the killer (which gives nothing away) it kept me guessing until the last moment. I kept trying to be clever and work out who it was. Did I get it right? Nope! Not even close (and I call myself a thriller author!) Anna was written as not a pleasant character, but I actually really liked her! I got the impression that as a reader you had to choose whose side you were on, which really added to the whole experience.

Good Points: The story itself really worked well with each chapters changing between each perspective. It was fast paced and I never found myself at a point where I was bored. The ending was amazing and quite freaking scary if I'm honest. At one point I actually raised my eyebrows (as a horror/thriller writer this is a big deal as not much surprises me).

Not so Good Points: To be honest I don't have anything negative to say! Other than I didn't really like one of the characters (I won't say who).
