The Last Chance Hotel

I really enjoyed this. I love both middle grade mystery and fantasy books and this combines the two, with a fair dose of cooking too which also really appeals to me. I had the audiobook on and found I didn't want to turn it off, I ended up listening to the entire book in one go.
I did find the ending a bit rushed, the revelations made complete sense but the book might have benefited from being a chapter or two longer. I also have an issue with the audiobook, it was well narrated but something in the editing was messed up - the final words of each chapter seemed to be squashed by the start of the next.
On the whole I rather loved this and will be carrying on with the series - quite possibly straight away.
