An excellent start to a truly epic series. Newcomers to fantasy likely won’t want to start here, as this is a massive, complex fantasy best suited for experienced readers of the genre. I think this is better than Sanderson’s Mistborn series in terms of character and relationship development, although this series is not nearly as high in breakneck action.
