I must be missing something. This story was not creepy or atmospheric to me at all. I can see what the author was trying but didn’t work for me. I did prefer the few chapters with the soldier but I think that’s because I was curious about the comeuppance. Not a bad book by any means but just didn’t do it for me. It was a quick read at least and I’m not opposed to trying other books by the author.
