nicolealycia 's review for:
Vanishing Girls
by Lauren Oliver
I want to know who comes up with the classifications for books and I want to know who picks the reviews that go on the covers....
“Read this one with the lights on” and thriller are not even remotely accurate ways to sum up this book.
This is the story of two sisters, Nick and Dara, and how one fateful night changed their lives forever. Months later, Nick is forced to go home and confront what happened that night.
This book was also classified as a mystery and the mystery occurred on maybe 50 pages in the whole book ... I’d have classified this book more as a psychological contemporary.
That being said, I did enjoy the book, now that my crazy ramblings are over.
I thought the story was well developed, the time changes from before and after kept the book interesting, and the ending definitely made it worth the read!
This was my first Lauren Oliver book and I’ll definitely be picking up more in the future.
