The Only Black Girls in Town
by Brandy Colbert
This was a nice read. It was a good story about how complicated middle school can be for everyone. It did a good job of describing what it can be like to be in the minority. The two main characters delve into history and bring to light the story of one woman struggling to live comfortably in a time when racial diversity was not accepted.
Alberta and Edie were both relateable and unique in their own ways. I enjoyed the humor in their stories, as well as the struggle.
