FR : J'ai entendu tellement de bonnes choses sur Mr. Gaiman ! En plus, dès les quelques premières pages j'ai adoré : bien que le personnage soit un petit garçon de sept ans, IL ETAIT MOI. Il jouait aux même jeux que moi, adorait les chats et les livres Narnia. C'était moi tout craché.
Mais je crois que je n'ai pas commencé avec son meilleur livre ...

Tout était bien, sans être extraordinaire. Mais je m'attendais à quelque chose de grandiose donc j'ai été déçue. Peut-être est-ce parce que je l'ai lu en français et pas dans ma langue habituelle (l'anglais)?
Je ne sais pas exactement mais tout au long je n'ai rien trouvé de spectaculaire et j'avais juste envie de lire en diagonale pour voir si les choses merveilleuses étaient à venir.
J'ai quand même beaucoup apprécié tous les petits éléments qui m'ont rappelé la petite fille que j'étais qui jouait dans son jardin ou s'échappait dans un livre.


EN : I've heard so many great things about Mr Gaiman and reading the first few pages I loved it : even though he's a seven year-old-boy, the main character was described as, basically, me. We played the same games, loved cats and Narnia... However I don't think I've started with Gaiman's best book.
Eevrything was good, without being great. I was expecting it to be amazing and therefor I was disappoited. One of the reasons may also be because I read it in french and not in english?

So although I loved reading about a kid who was basicallt me, I just never found anything to be spectacular and ended up skipping parts, waiting for something magical which never really came.

- I must say, this seems to be an unpopular opinion, many people seem to love Gaiman and I really need to pick another one of his books up. THe Graveyard Book is actually on my shelves staring at me rn ...
