This was a decent novella - I love a good villain origin story. Levana’s story was a sad one and I did feel a bit of sympathy for childhood Levana. However, adult Levana’s actions are so terrible I cannot feel bad for her in the slightest. What I enjoyed the most about this book was the backstory for Cinder and Winter. I was sort of confused about Winter when I read Cress, but this cleared some things up and I love that I know where she came from now.
