Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
5.0

After tearing through Stalking Jack the Ripper, I automatically put a hold on for book 2 in this series.

Much like book 1, we find Audrey Rose and Thomas in quite the debacle. Studying forensics at the esteemed academy in Bran Castle in Romania, people are showing up dead. Their blood has been taken and they smell of garlic. We of course know that the killer will not be a vampire rising from the dead-- not the style of Maniscalco. But we are taken through the history of Dracula and some of the beliefs of the country. I found this to be quite interesting, as travelling to Eastern Europe is high on my bucket list.

Just like book 1, the relationship between Audrey Rose and Thomas is endearing and lovely. Audrey is a wonderful character to read about as she shows emotion, but refused to let others judge her for that. She is strong, independent, and quite fun! I liked this book sightly better than book 1 because it was a little less gory, due to the murders done by Ripper to be more gory. I cannot wait to continue in this series and already put book 3 on hold at the library.
