I really liked this book but I think it was overhyped. I did love the multiple view points and connecting the dots between characters. But while book is definitely fast paced but it drags in a few places where not a lot happens.
I found that I was more angry rather than sad about their deaths bc they were so vague, especially Rufus’s. I think you tend to get more emotional when the deaths of characters are more descriptive. He should’ve gotten his death written out or through the perspective of Victor, so that the ending would’ve had more impact but when I finished the book I knew what was going to happen because of the last line but it felt unfinished and I expected something to come after that line.
I got about 60% thru in one sitting and at that point I didn’t understand why this was listed as lgbt when they just seemed like they were becoming close friends. I definitely noticed the slight hints towards the end that they started to like each other but when it got to actual romance it felt super rushed. I feel like the story could’ve done with out the romance and still had the same effect, it’s still the heartbreak of losing some you have come to love. If there was maybe more hints that they liked each other more throughout the book then it probably would’ve worked.
