Reading "When the Reckoning Comes" elicited a lot of emotions. I was so intrigued with how the story was written than the actual context. I believe there was so much care taken in writing this story that enhanced my reading experience. There were content warnings of sexual violence; although the graphics were there, the graphicness of the context was NOT on paper. 

This is a story of a young Black girl who is friends with a neighborhood Black boy and a White girl. Quickly these children are taught some harsh lessons in life. As they grew older, some regret and creepy stuff were happening to them, causing them to return to where it all began, a plantation with many memories.
