paddlefoot55 's review for:
Mafia Casanova
by M. Robinson
ARC received for an honest review
I have been on Rachel Van Dyken and M. Robinson's mafia journeys right from the start.
And this first collaboration, Mafia Casanova? I hope this is just the start of a wonderful relationship.
We quickly met Romeo Sinacore in the previous books from each author, and my interest was piqued.
And then I was hooked right from the prologue.
There was no holding back in this tale, Eden and Romeo's tale is not hearts and flowers. It is dirty and lusty - and heartbreaking.
I don't want to give anything away, as this is a story that you need to immerse yourself in, and going in a bit blind makes it even more.
The writing is seamless. You would never guess that there was more than one author involved. When it is collabs, I am always trying to figure out who wrote what. For the most part, I couldn't with Mafia Cananova - though there were some parts where I was "Rachel wrote this!".
To me, this has more of a Rachel Van Dyken mafia feel to it than an M. Robinson feel. And I am not saying that to take away from a either author. This book just didn't have the level of angst that I have come to expect and love from Monica's tales.
There were things that I had a pretty good idea where they were heading as I was reading, however there were still twists and turns thrown in.
And I am now hoping, after where this tale took us, that we get many more books from these authors.
I need more.
