Big Gay Wedding by Byron Lane
4.0

Mini Audiobook: Thank you so much to MacMillan Audio for the complimentary copy of the book!

This book is out now!

I had no idea what this book was about. 98% of the time I go by vibes, author & buzz and that was the case with this. I honestly thought this book was going to be about a romance leading up to big gay wedding. And this was not the case at ALL.

This book was definitely more of a fiction than a romance. Which is fine just it was not what I was anticipating.  I wish I had the physical book (oddly enough went to 3 stores and could not locate a copy) because there were so many characters to keep track of while I was listening. It took a bit to understand who was who and their role in the family but by the end I had everyone straight.

Chrissy Durang's growth in this book is the start of the book. At the beginning of the book she was at one end and we are with her along the journey of accepting her son's sexuality and that he was getting married to approving and loving Barnett's husband Erza.

I also was surprised on how the book ended and it was something I saw coming BUT I was not expecting at the start of the book. Please check trigger warnings as it was pretty detailed.

I love when actors do audiobook narrating. This is not the first time I have listened to a book with Noah Galvin narrating but he just is such exceptional. He was able to adjust his voice to give each character their own personality.

This book had the laughs, the tears & still a lot of love in between.
