If I hadn't gone into this book knowing it was nonfiction, I would have disregarded half of it as over-the-top. But I guess that's what I love about the South.

This magical, atmospheric, hilarious, dark book is a novel-like look at a real murder that took place in 1981. The murder doesn't happen until about halfway through so I won't spoil it for you, but I can promise you'll be plenty entertained by every single page leading up to it.

I highlighted so many wonderful phrases and was thoroughly charmed by all of these characters. I'm half ready to move to Savannah.
