Impressed does not begin to describe my reaction to this book. I've heard of the Dark Tower series for a long time, and had been meaning to pick it up just as long, but only the other day managed to finally start it. On a whim I picked it up one morning at around 6am when I couldn't sleep. . . and found myself devouring it word for word. Fully drawn into the world and soon invested in the character of The Gunslinger himself. Even the characters you are introduced to just briefly during his journey suck you in more. The impact each one has on him no matter how small is fascinating. I intend to pick up the next book as soon as possible so that I can continue along with him on his journey and see where it leads.
