This was an exceptional second in the series! Grey was my most favorite from the first book so when I knew this would mostly be about him, I was over the moon!
Harper and Rhen kind of take a backseat in this story.

Grey leaves Emberfall after the curse is broken. He knows who the true heir is and he rubs with that knowledge-away from killing Lilith, away from all he's known since the age of 16.
We get to see him journey with Jake and Noah. I liked getting to know them both more.

We meet Lia Mara, the oldest daughter but not heir of Syhl Shallow. She is seen as weak by her mother, the cruel Karis Luran. We get to see her come into her own and become stronger than her mother thought possible.

There is a massive cliffhanger (I did NOT see that coming) and I can't wait for the third.
