Mateo is easily my favorite in the Trophy Boyfriend series! I absolutely loved him. I was also super happy that True got a story, especially after getting glimpses of her in her brother’s stories.

Mateo plays baseball with True’s brother, Trace aka Buzz, and they happen to meet at his wedding and have a one-night stand. True runs out to avoid any awkwardness and Mateo is not a fan of that, so he is determined to find a way to contact her. The dilemma? That one-night stand ended in a pregnancy. True is nervous to tell her brother’s the news and even more nervous to tell them who the father of the baby is.

I loved Mateo and True. I love the banter between the two of them. I loved that Mateo is caring and supportive. I loved that Mateo isn’t the typical sports romance hero either, he is caring, protective and all about family compared to being a player.

Hard Luck is very little drama, just a nice and easy feel good romance with plenty of laughs.
If you’re looking for a surprise baby, sports romance this is one to read.
