I really enjoyed this debut novel. It’s well crafted with great character development and it flows along nicely with good plot formation. I also liked the originality of a romance with a major part of the plot being about writing books.

The main characters Luis and Adam are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to romance and happily ever afters. They connect when Adam, a well known writer, agrees to mentor Luis who is just beginning his literary journey.

They begin their many writing workshops together and very slowly attraction develops. The chemistry between them has always been there and after they finally act upon it the heat levels certainly rise.
As Adam is very cynical and doesn’t believe in love or romance, it’s leads to a major misstep in their relationship but love does win through and they get their HEA.

It’s lovely watching Luis bloom as he discovers his sensual nature and seeing Adam’s world lighten as his aversion to love and romance crumbles away.

This was an enjoyable and engaging read with some feels, a dash of angst and a cast of interesting side characters just waiting for their stories to be told.
