Murder on the Orient Express
by Agatha Christie
This is one of Agatha Christie’s more famous novels. Yet it is one I have never read before. I understand why it is a favorite even if it is a bit fantastical.
I was a bit thrown off by all the stereotypical behaviors based on country. But I stepped back and realize that we still do that. It just seems like a lot to base a murder investigation on.
I did not see the ending coming until the third book. Then I started to question, and then further on I got the more obvious it became. However, I don’t think it was supposed to be a secret by the time the grand reveal came.
The story itself is simple, and not. It is very blasé but hiding a story that is anything but. Now I really want to go rent the movie.
