The Haunting of Hill House
by Shirley Jackson
It's been awhile since I downright hated all characters in a book, but this one did just that. Unfortunately this book spends over a hundred pages pushing the potential for the haunted house, but then doesn't capitalize enough on the build up. When the moments were creepy and terrifying, they nailed it, but sadly just weren't enough to save this book. Toward the end I was kind of checked out with everything. Respectfully giving it 2 stars, because when it wanted to be, it was pretty damn creepy. Sadly it didn't want to be that enough for me.
